Turns out, when you don’t post a blog for three years, your account and all of its subscribers get deleted.
So whether you were previously subscribed and are now re-subscribed, you are a first-time subscriber, or you want to subscribe (here), hello! Welcome to my creative outlet amidst my ever bustling life as a wife, a mother, a chef, and a lover of all things that bring people together in community.
Ever heard of the Greek word, Meraki? {pronounced meh-dá-kee… gotta roll that R like a true Greek}
Meaning: to put something of yourself into your work. Soul. Creativity. Love.
I took the long way to finding my calling in life. A little college, a little singing, a little acting… a lotta table-waiting, a lotta bartending… a lotta experiences and a lotta life lessons learned along the way.
Ultimately, I realized my passion was where it had always been, since childhood: in the kitchen. I dream about food and about nourishing others … about growing my own fruits and vegetables … about owning a community farm … about making things from scratch… about recipe development… about food writing … about second and third and fourth cookbooks … about bringing a meal to a friend or a stranger or a new mom or my own parents up the street.
To put something of yourself into your work. All of who I am is what pours into my work. What a feeling.
So, thank you… for following along and for supporting this little business but ineffable passion of mine. My hope is that you, too, experience meraki in what you do and in who you are.
I look forward to sharing a bit of my world, my passion and my recipes with you, all.

Just love you to death. I’m so proud of you & your accomplishments.
That little girl who took off her shoes & socks to run through puddles after church has turned into an incredible woman that I have so much respect & admiration for.
